Texas pet hospital deploys world's first novel handheld UV disinfection device
Carrollton West Pet Hospital in Texas is the first animal hospital in the world to deploy Deactivate, a high-powered UV that is designed to quickly destroy germs and disinfect rooms. The device uses high-powered LEDs to create ultraviolet light that deactivates pathogens. “Every time a customer leaves an exam room, we go in and quickly disinfect it with our Deactivate device before the next customer and their pet are admitted to that room,” explained Ross Barnes, CEO of Carrollton West Pet Hospital, who continued: "Our staff feels reassured about coming to work because they know we are doing everything possible to prevent the spread of germs within our facility.”
